I first became aware of KTTC through a friend of mine in the fall of 2007. With a little bit of arm twisting I began my current role as treasurer in the spring of 2008. It’s been a challenging and exciting time to be part of the organization throughout this period.
I have been employed with the Canada Revenue Agency for the past 18 years. While I held numerous roles in my early days with CRA I have been an income tax auditor for the past 15 years, reviewing the books and records of small and medium proprietorships and corporations. My education includes: a BA from Trent University in Environmental Science and Native Studies; accounting specialization through the CGA program and in 2002 received my Certified Financial Planners designation.
Outside of KTTC I share my home with “my girls” two cats Kashtin and Maloree and my chocolate lab Myja. On my daily trecks to Fowler’s Corner to walk Myja it isn’t unusual for me to park my car diagonally across Frankhill Road in the spring and early summer ensuring the safety of numerous snappers… who by the way don’t appear to be too grateful when encouraged to cross the road just a little more quickly. Regardless its a conversational piece for those who stop to watch and an opportunity for me to promote KTTC.
When I not working I can often be found taking horse back riding lessons or travelling to far away places which have included Egypt, Vietnam and China in the past couple of years.
