Snapping TurtleA long time member of the KTTC emailed us this wonderful photo of a Snapping Turtle on a golf course. This struck us as a perfect opportunity to remind all you turtle lovers out there that one of the most important things that anyone can do to help turtles is to report your observations to monitoring programs.

Ontario Nature is currently updating the Ontario Reptile and Amphibian Atlas. You can help them collect data on the distribution of these critters. And not just the rare ones – they want your sightings of any frogs, toads, salamanders, snakes, skinks, and turtles – alive or dead. You can even send in your observations from the past – as long as you can provide the date, location, and observer to the best of your ability.
