Yesterday’s bake sale was a huge success — at least 100 people stopped by our table of goodies over the course of four hours. One of the tellers at the bank commented that at times there was a longer lineup at our bake table that at the tellers!
The Peterborough Square branch of TD Bank was wonderful, providing us with a great spaced front and centre in the bank, materials for signs, lots of interest and purchases from bank staff and an invitation to come back again soon.
We were overwhelmed with donations for the sale — everything from amazing award-winning home-baked pies to irresistible one-bite Turtle brownies — and of course Rachel’s famous turtle cookies. Volunteers from the Trent University Animal Science Club baked over 600 cookies and tied them up in neat little packages for the sale.
There’s not enough space to thank the many, many bakers who devoted their time, skill and delicious ingredients to the giant sale.
We raised $620 with dedicated help at the sale from volunteers Cindy, Rachel, Sarah, Anne, Danica, Tara and Lynda.
