This classic circulation coin set from the Royal Canadian Mint includes a special $1 coin featuring the vibrant Blanding’s turtle! Here at the OTCC we take in many Blanding’s turtles every year that have been injured. Then we rehabilitate them and release them back to their home wetlands after they’ve healed. We also have a headstarting program where Blanding’s turtle eggs are incubated, hatched out, and released. Our research on Blanding’s turtle headstarting is on its 11th year and we have learned so much about them, but there is still so much more to learn! With the purchase of this coin set you are supporting our ongoing efforts to help save this endangered species along with all of Ontario’s native turtles.
